We are heading up a recruitment drive on behalf of a leading IT consultancy that require a DevOps Engineer to join their team on a major government project that is based remotely.

Job Description:-

As per customer SC policy to work on production environment, a resource needs to be Single UK National, No Dual Nationality allowed.

- A resource needs to travel 2-3 days to client site, East Croydon to access S-Room which has Servers working on production deployments. Remote access/working from home is not allowed on those 2-3 days and one must be physically present in that room to do production deployments.

- Overnight production deployment - once in a month requirement: A resource needs to work overnight to do production deployment once in a month

Must have Technologies:

The must have requirements centre around the base technology platforms that we build all our infrastructure:

AWS

Cloud Formation or Terraform

Nginx

Linux administration

Packer

Collaboration tools (Git, Jira, Confluence, etc)

Note the more senior the resource then the following become Must have's:

Kubernetes

Docker

Hashicorp tools (Packer, Consul, Vault, etc)

Skills:

Working within an agile context with the use of CI

Articulate a logical design, and understand how this translates to physical infrastructure

Experience with defining and working with the constraint of NFRs such as cost, scalability, availability

The must have skills will determine how well they will be able to integrate into our way of working

The principals we use when making strategic and long-term decisions.
